PROGRAM

Day 1 Hanoi arrival

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to the city center to check into your hotel. Relax after a long journey.
 
Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi – Orientation

Today, you will visit the Huu Tiep Lake (nicknamed B52 Lake), where a B52 plane was shot down during the War. Inspect the wreckage including the gear wheels and meet one of the witnesses to get an understanding of the history and his unique experience as he watched the bomber crash into the lake.
 
Then visit the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the nation’s founder, containing the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, and his House on Stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of the city.
 
Visit the workshop of a local 70-year-old artisan to learn how to make the rubber sandals that symbolize the modesty of beloved President Ho Chi Minh. Try to create your own sandals under his guidance and bring home a unique souvenir. 
 
Continue visiting the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu- Quoc Tu Giam), Vietnam’s first university, built in the 11th century; the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer an elegant glimpse into Vietnam's past. You will then take a cyclo (rickshaw ride) around the Old Quarter streets which were named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. Stop at the Hoan Kiem Lake for photos.

OPTIONAL: Experience at Hanoian’s home Dinner
This evening will be a special experience for your trip. You will meet, discuss and enjoy a dinner with a family in Hanoi. It will be a good occasion to understand local home life in Vietnam’s capital city. The visit is designed to give tourists an in-depth understanding of Hanoi’s culture and an authentic experience that could not had without our special arrangements. 

Day 3 Hanoi – Lan Ha Bay

Our driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel, depart for Lan Ha Bay – where thousands of spectacular limestone islets and grottoes rise from the clear emerald Gulf of Tonkin. You will arrive at the port after about a two-hour drive, check in procedure.
Enjoy a welcome drink on board.
 
A cruise briefing will follow when you will also be given safety instructions before checking into your cabins. While the ship is sailing, you will enjoy a bon-appetit lunch.
Relax while the boat is gliding through many stone islets, floating villages and small beaches.
Visit the Light and Dark Water Cave, where you can kayak or board a bamboo boat oared by local people.
Free time on your own on the sundeck.
Dinner would be ready at this time; ship anchors off at a quiet designated overnight area.

Day 4 Lan Ha Bay – Hai Phong fly to DaNang

Wake up early to enjoy the dawn and start a perfect new day with Tai Chi exercise on the sundeck or enjoy breathtaking views of the bay while the boat quietly glides  in Lan Ha Bay.
 
Have a light breakfast in the restaurant.
You will then take a bus for about 20 minutes from the Gia Luan Pier to visit a cave in Cat Ba Island. During the trip, you will be immersed in the wild fresh natural scenery of Cat Ba National Park. Back to your ship. 
Enjoy brunch on board while cruising toward the pier, and disembark around noon time. Our driver will transfer you to Cat Bi Airport in Hai Phong for your flight to DaNang.
Upon arrival, our guide and driver will welcome and transfer you to your hotel in Hoi An.
 
In the evening, we suggest that you join a unique nightly activity for the public at the outdoor stage along the Huai River: Bai Choi singing, a folk music genre practiced in Vietnam’s Central Region, which has been added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. First learn the rules of the game and you can join the performance or just be part of the audience.
 
Overnight in Hoi An  
Meals: Breakfast, Brunch

Day 5 Hoi An- Tra Que Herbal Village

Leave your hotel, and bike to the local farm in Tra Que Village. A short stroll will take you around the vegetable garden and you can join the farmers in preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. This is followed by raking the ground, sowing, watering, and picking vegetables and other gardening activities.
 
After that, you will join the cooking demonstration with some local delicacies including ‘tam huu’ (spring roll) and banh xeo (local pancake) for people in Vietnam’s middle region. Enjoy your lunch at Tra Que Village.
 
In the afternoon, explore Hoi An Ancient Town, including the rich architectural fusion of a 300-year old Chinese temple, a 400-year old Japanese covered bridge, a 200-year old Vietnamese former merchant’s home by visiting Hoi An’s narrow streets where each house façade is adorned with lanterns.
 
Overnight in Hoi An.

OPTIONAL: Hoi An Memories Show
In the late afternoon, depart from your hotel to participate in an artistic demonstration which tells the 400-year-old story of Hoi An with all of its grace and prosperity. 
 
Known as a colorful and musically dazzling night show, the “Hoi An Memories Show” recalls the memories of Hoi An as a busy trading port in Southeast Asia with a history stretching back over more than 400 years. As a result of the participation of 500 actors, this country’s largest-ever outdoor visual arts performance includes folk and contemporary dances as well as ballet, along with state-of-the-art lighting technology and sophisticated sound effects, offering an insight into the culture and history of Hoi An town. 

Day 6 Hoi An – Hue

Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel then you take on a land journey to Hue Imperial City via the Hai Van Pass. From the top of the cloudy Hai Van Pass, you can grab your own panoramic view of Vietnam’s Central Coast.
Upon arrival, you visit the Imperial Citadel (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site) including Hat Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace etc…
 
Overnight in Hue.

Day 7 Hue – Motorbike experience

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel for an interesting day excursion. Sitting at the back of a motorcycle is the best way to see local life and the countryside in Hue. The mix of urban and rural life will fascinate you. Visit rural villages to see rice paddies and traditional crafts. Stop at the Thanh Toan Village where there is a Tiled Bridge, one of Vietnam's oldest famous bridges for its ancient architecture, historical and cultural values. Venture into the city of tombs to get a glimpse of the funerary customs in Vietnam and visit the tomb of King Khai Dinh, a mix of Eastern and Western architecture. Stop at Vong Canh Hill and admire the beautiful landscape of the natural area. Continue driving to Kim Long Village, where traditional garden shelters are preserved.
Lunch is served in a pagoda where you can learn about Vietnamese Buddhism while chatting with the monks (lunch in the pagoda is simply vegetarian whereas lunch in a restaurant will be arranged by request).
 
The next stop is to a local family that makes a variety of traditional Hue specialities. Warmly welcomed by your host, take a seat and learn how to make traditional specialities such as Banh Nam and Banh Loc. Enjoy your hard work while chatting with your host.

Notes: This tour can be arranged by car for travelers who do not feel comfortable with motorbikes.

Day 8 Hue fly to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Be picked up at your hotel, then take a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). On arrival, be welcome by our local guide at the airport and go to your hotel in the city.
 
The walking tour starts at the City Hall, and from the Saigon Opera House continue your exploration on rue Catinat, make a stop at any famous monument of the city such as the CIA building, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and the Reunification Palace. An interesting stop is Maison Marou to taste the best Vietnamese chocolate (at your expense) and learn the history of the artisanal, single-origin chocolate maker.  Visit the Fine Art Museum, a stunning French building erected in the late 1920s then wind your way to experience an antique street close to the Ben Thanh market.
 
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City– Mekong Delta

After breakfast at your hotel, be picked up by our guide for a day excursion in the Mekong Delta. On arrival, hop on a motorized boat on the Ben Tre River – one of the Mekong’s tributaries while seeing lively activities along the river such as fishing and water transfer. Our first stop is at a brick kiln to see how to make bricks traditionally by printing and baking. Continue to one of several coconut processing workshops located along the canal. Return to the boat and go through natural scissors creeks to a village and see some locals making sleeping mats and enjoying some fruits.
Take a motorized cart (tuk tuk) or bicycle through shady paths, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to experience authentic life and find out about tropical culture from peasants. Have lunch at local a riverside restaurant
 
After lunch, we take a rowboat along a beautiful water palm creek before meeting up with the motorized boat and transferring you back to the pier. Return to the hotel after a memorable day soaking in Mekong Delta local living. Go back to the city for overnight stay.

Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City – Departure

Enjoy a very last minute at your hotel before going to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your flight back home.
 
OPTIONAL: Visit Cu Chi tunnels by Vintage jeep.  
This morning, you will set off with your guide for a journey by vintage jeep to the famous Cu Chi tunnels, going through urbanized areas and a typically lush southern Vietnamese countryside. Tour the vast network of underground passageways to gain an insight into the tunnels’ history, life in the tunnels as well as the tenacity and resourcefulness of the Vietnamese during combat.  
 
Note: This tour is recommended if your departure flight is in the later afternoon.

Beach Extension: Phu Quoc island : Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc by air

Your driver will pick you up and take you to Tan Son Nhat Airport for a short flight to the beautiful island of Phu Quoc. On arrival, you will be picked up by your resort and transferred to your accommodations for relaxation.

Day 11 Phu Quoc Island beach break

Free time to enjoy the beach and pool or take a day excursion to explore the beautiful island.

Enjoy every last minute with the stunning beach before flying back to Ho Chi Minh City where your flight home awaits. 

Mui Ne Beach : Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – Mui Ne by road

After breakfast at your hotel, be picked up by our driver for a land trip to Mui Ne. Arrive in Mui Ne after a four and a half-hour drive. Free time for relaxing on the beach and swimming pool.
