Vietnam Airlines will start direct flights between Melbourne and Hanoi on June 15, offering two weekly flights on the Airbus A350-900. This will increase the total number of weekly flights between Vietnam and Australia to 18. The new Hanoi service will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving into Melbourne at 12:30pm and departing for Hanoi at 3pm, just 8 hours flight.
These flights will benefit tourism, business, and cultural exchange between the two countries. Vietnamese tourists will have more opportunities to explore Australia, while Australians can discover Vietnam's culture and landscapes.
Bamboo Airways also offers Hanoi-Melbourne flights every Wednesday, and low-cost airline Vietjet Air has recently entered the market with flights to Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney from Ho Chi Minh City.
