DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LUANG PRABANG

Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved ancient city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town, with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights, make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.
Landing at Luang Prabang Airport, you will be greeted by our guide and escorted to your hotel in the city.

Visa Fast track service at airport (complimentary service by Asia Colors Travel)
With the visa fast track service at the airport in Luang Prabang, you do not need to fill out the entry form or queue in line. Upon entering the arrival terminal, simply look for our representative who will be holding a signboard bearing your name(s). Hand all the documents (original passport, visa stamping fee) to our representative, and wait for a while. All the procedures at the Immigration Desk will be handled by our representative.
After the visa is procured, guests will be escorted to the baggage claim to pick up their luggage (guests pick up luggage themselves), then go out to meet your tour guide.
Note: Approval letter for Lao visa is not required, guest(s) only need to pay the stamping fee.

DAY 2: INSIGHTS OF LUANG PRABANG

Early risers may join a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. It is an insightful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of this nation. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
Today, we explore the most highlights of Luang Prabang: the National Museum, the Wat Xieng Thong and Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa, as well as a beautiful sunset view over the city and the Mekong River. At last, the option to explore the Street Night Bazaar, where you can find a lovely variety of textiles handmade by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

In the late afternoon, travel by tuk-tuk to a local house. You will be warmly welcomed by your host before taking part in a Baci ceremony where you will have white cotton strings ties around your wrist for good luck. Baci is a ceremony to celebrate a special event, whether a marriage, a homecoming, a welcome, a birth, or one of the annual festivals. The Baci ceremony can take place any day of the week and all year long, preferably before noon or before sunset. The term more commonly used is “su kwan”, which means “calling of the soul”.
After that, enjoy authentic home cooked Laos cuisine, chat with your hosts and then return to your hotel.

DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG – ELEPHANT EXPERIENCE

In the morning, drive to Shangri Lao Resort where you will be greeted and then participate in a short briefing about the elephants. Your half day tour activities will include:
Elephant Feeding: Get up close and personal with elephants
Explore Elephant Village: Visit elephant hospital, museum, photo gallery and dung paper making area
Bareback Elephant Ride (optional): Enjoy the impressive experience of a 1 km bareback elephant ride! One person per elephant
Visit Baby Elephants: Meet our two baby elephants across the river
Boat trip to the Tad Sae Waterfall: Ride in a traditional Lao long boat to the Tad Sae Waterfall and relax or swim in the clear water (swimming suit recommended!)
Enjoy lunch at Shangri Lao Tree House Restaurant. A three-course set menu lunch is served (vegetarian options are available)
After the visit, return to your hotel downtown. Time at leisure.

OPTIONAL: Kuang Si Waterfalls
In the morning, you will set off by car through the Luang Prabang picturesque countryside to the Kuang Si Waterfalls. Along the way by Mekong River you will see gorgeous landscapes of many rice fields, hills, and villages, and you will pay a visit to an ethnic minority village where local culture has remained unchanged for centuries. Enjoy the magnificent natural surroundings and relax at Kuang Si Waterfalls with a fresh cold coconut.

DAY 4: LUANG PRABANG – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, you will be free until time to drive to the airport for your next destination.
