PROGRAM
Day 1 Hanoi Arrival
The group arrives at Noi Bai International airport, welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel in the city center.
Overnight in Hanoi
Day 2 Hanoi City - Cathedral of St. Joseph & Archbishop
After breakfast at the hotel, we start to explore the charming Hanoi with a complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the Nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (from outside), and His House on stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of the city. The next will be the Temple of Literature, constructed in the 11th century, the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam's past. Note: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and His House on stilts are closed on Monday, Friday and all afternoon.
Next, visit Cua Bac Church, a charming destination nestled under old trees at the Phan Dinh Phung street intersection. This church is popular among expats in Hanoi, offering regular English-language services on Sundays, making it a pleasant spot for a leisurely afternoon stroll in the green neighborhood. The last but most important place is St Joseph's Cathedral, a 19th-century neo-Gothic church built with the Notre Dame of Paris in mind. The church is a gathering place for the large Roman Catholic community of Hanoi and is also popular with tourists. Constructed when the French first occupied the city, St. Joseph Cathedral is a striking example of colonial architecture in Hanoi.
Overnight in Hanoi
Day 3 Nam Dinh - Ninh Binh
After breakfast, at 7:30 am, our guide and driver will transfer you to Nam Dinh. On the way, visit a famous Basilica in the region, built in the colonial neo-gothic style. Meet with the vicar if possible and encounter the local catholic community. Next, drive to an exotic church in Nam Dinh (1-hour drive) for a breathtaking beach sunrise and a glimpse of fishermen's lives.
We continue our journey to another sauce production site, offering insights and tea breaks. We reach Vietnam's first Christian site dating back to 1533, surrounded by serene nature.
The last stop is Hanh Thien Village, one of the most beautiful villages in Vietnam with the shape of a fish. It’s a place where doctors live and a village of education. We also visit an ancient Pagoda and the land of legend which is nearly 1000 years old. We drive straight to Ninh Binh (around a 1-hour drive) and relaxed.
Overnight in Ninh Binh
DAY 4 Ninh Binh - Phat Diem Stone Church - Trang An
After breakfast, proceed to the Stone Cathedral which was built by the priest Father Trần Lục in 1891 in a combination of French and Vietnamese religious architecture. The Phat Diem Stone Church is a masterpiece that should not be missed.
In the afternoon, continue the journey with a boat excursion in Trang An. Consisting of 12 caves and 3 temples, Trang An becomes a must for travelers to Ninh Binh. A rowing boat carries you through caves and picturesque green channels; here you are close to nature.
